Secret Creek Sanctuary will open its gates on Sunday 6 September 2015 from 11am for the annual Australian Ecosystems Foundation Open Day. This is a unique opportunity to experience the amazing work that goes on behind the fences by Australian Ecosystems Foundation Inc, the not-for-profit organisation that runs Secret Creek Sanctuary. There will be a sausage sizzle lunch, demonstrations and membership information available. The event aims at raising the profile of Australian Ecosystems Foundation Inc in the Lithgow area, connecting with old and new members and showing the local community exactly how important the work being done at Secret Creek actually is for Australian environmental conservation. National Geographic Conservationist of the Year and founder of Australian Ecosystems Foundation Inc, Trevor Evans, will be giving a presentation on the day. He will give an exclusive insight into the ground breaking conservation work being undertaken. The most recent project is a collaborative effort to save the highly endangered Mountain Pygmy Possum.
